Vügar İmambeyli pursued his academic journey in history, earning degrees from Istanbul and Boğaziçi universities at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He furthered his education by completing a Ph.D. at Marmara University in the Department of Political Science and International Relations. From 2009 to 2020, he contributed significantly as a faculty member at Istanbul Şehir University in the same department. Since October 2020, he has served as a faculty member at Marmara University Middle East and Islamic Countries Institute. His academic interests span history, politics, and comparative foreign policy, with a focus on post-Soviet countries. Notably, his recent research delves into Russian foreign policy, Turkish-Russian relations, integration in Central Asia and the Caucasus, and Russia-Middle East relations. Vugar İmambeyli has authored and translated several works, exploring topics such as Azerbaijani-Ottoman Relations, Eurasianism, and Religion and Identity in Azerbaijan. His translations include works by notable authors like A. G. Dugin and N. S. Trubetskoy.
