Dr. Tunç Demirtaş earned his Ph.D. from Bursa Uludağ University in 2022 with a dissertation titled “Risks and Opportunities in the Restructuring of the State: The Case of the Horn of Africa.” He is a faculty member in the Department of International Relations at Mersin University, where he teaches courses on African politics and related topics.
Dr. Demirtaş has conducted extensive field research across various regions in Africa and serves as a researcher in the Foreign Policy unit at the SETA Foundation. His research focuses on the politics of the Horn of Africa, global and regional power competition in Africa, and Türkiye-Africa relations.
