Tighisti Amare is the Deputy Director of the Africa Programme at Chatham House. She brings over fifteen years of experience, in designing and managing high-impact research projects on the political economy, international relations, governance, and accountability in sub-Saharan Africa. Tighisti’s research interests focus on Africa’s foreign relations and agency in global affairs, Africa-EU relations, and the role of the African Union. In addition to her research contributions, she oversees quality control, leads fundraising initiatives, manages team development, and engages in outreach and stakeholder relations, including with senior political figures.
