Thomas Hans Ossowski Ambassador; Head, European Union Delegation to Türkiye

Ambassador Thomas Hans Ossowski is currently Head of the Delegation of the European Union to Türkiye, prior to which he served as Germany’s Representative to the EU Political and Security Committee in Brussels. His previous positions include Ambassador to the Philippines, Palau, Micronesia, and the Marshall Islands, as well as Civilian Head of the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Kunduz, Afghanistan.

Ambassador Ossowski has also held roles as Political Advisor to the NATO Commander in Kabul, Deputy Head of Mission in Rwanda, and Political Officer at the German Embassy in Tel Aviv. Within the German Foreign Office, he has served as Special Representative for EU Multiannual Financial Framework negotiations, Deputy Director General for European Affairs, and Director for Enlargement, Migration, and Sanctions Policies.
