Nenden O. Shanty PhD, Consultant, Former Director, Training and Technical Cooperation, SESRIC OIC

Dr. Nenden Octavarulia Shanty is an accomplished consultant specializing in gender equality, capacity building, and sustainable development. She holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education with honors from Middle East Technical University and has over a decade of experience at SESRIC, the training and research arm of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). As former Director of SESRIC’s Training and Technical Cooperation Department, Dr. Shanty led more than 23 capacity-building programs across sectors such as statistics, digital transformation, transportation, disaster risk management, and environmental sustainability, enhancing international collaboration and connectivity.

Dr. Shanty has worked with international organizations, including the CDC, CDC Foundation, WHO, and various UN agencies, such as UN Women, UNSIAP, UNSD, UNESCAP, ILO, WTO, UNWTO, UNESCO, and UNICEF. Her work focuses on developing gender-responsive training, statistical capacity-building initiatives, and high-level policy frameworks. With her strategic insights and extensive expertise, Dr. Shanty continues to advance education, foster international cooperation, and support sustainable development worldwide.
