Prof. (Assoc.) Dr. Md. Nazmul Islam is an Associate Professor of Political Science and Public Administration and Head of Türkiye, Asia, and Indo-Pacific Studies (TAIPS) at the Institute for International Relations and Strategic Research (ULİSA) at Ankara Yildirim Beyazit University (AYBU), Türkiye. Since 2021, he has also served as Special Asia-Pacific Advisor in the Foreign Relations and Protocol Department of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye.

Dr. Islam has taught postgraduate courses at Greifswald and Saarland Universities in Germany, Trento University in Italy, as well as at Ankara University and the Social Sciences University of Ankara (ASBU). He was awarded a Kautilya Research Fellowship by India’s Ministry of External Affairs and worked as a Visiting Researcher at Saarland University and as a Research Associate at the University of Cambridge’s Judge Business School.

A prolific author, Dr. Islam has published numerous books, book chapters, and peer-reviewed articles, with several of his works included in top university libraries, such as those of Harvard, MIT, Oxford, and Cambridge. He is fluent in Turkish, English, and Bengali, with working knowledge of Arabic, Urdu, Hindi, and German.
