Murithi Mutiga is Africa Program Director at the International Crisis Group. He leads teams to resolve and prevent deadly conflict in the Horn of Africa, the Sahel, the Great Lakes and West and Central Africa regions.
Mutiga previously covered East Africa for The Guardian (UK) and served as a Contributing Op-Ed Writer for the International New York Times. He was also an editor and columnist with the Sunday Nation. His research interests include the Nile basin dispute and leadership transitions on the continent.
He holds an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics.
