Meltem Müftüler-Baç is currently Dean of Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences since July 2020, and Professor of International Relations/Jean Monnet chair at Sabanci University.
Prof. Müftüler-Baç, a distinguished scholar in Political Science/International Relations, earned her Ph.D. from Temple University in 1992. She held faculty positions at Bilkent University before joining Sabanci University in 2002, where she became a full professor in 2005. Her notable publications include “Turkey’s Relations with a Changing Europe” (1997) and “Diverging Pathways: Turkey and the European Union” (2016). With over 50 journal articles and 23 book chapters, she is a widely cited expert in European integration and Turkish foreign policy. Engaged in EU-funded projects, she contributed to RECON, TRANSWORLD, MAXCAP, and others. Currently involved in H2020 projects MAGYC and ENGAGE, she serves on advisory boards and think tanks. Prof. Müftüler-Baç received awards from the Turkish Academy of Sciences and the Jean Monnet Professor title in 2004 from the European Commission.
