Mehboob Jeelani is a Senior Editor at TRT World. He has written extensively on Indian politics and covered the country’s attempts to tackle poverty, corruption and inequality. He has also reported in the US, where he wrote stories about the intersection of business and politics. Jeelani has won two of India’s most prestigious awards in journalism: the Ramnath Goenka Award for Excellence in Journalism and the Red Ink Award. Holding  MA in Politics from Columbia University, his work has featured on Longform.org, an online platform that posts highly rated new and classic non-fiction articles.
