Heba Raouf Ezzat is an Egyptian political scientist currently teaching at Ibn Haldun University in Istanbul, Turkey. She previously lectured in political theory at Cairo University from 2007 to 2013, where she earned both her M.A. and Ph.D., and served as an adjunct professor at the American University in Cairo from 2006 to 2013. Dr. Ezzat has contributed to international research projects on Islam and international relations, the complexities of global civil society, and studies on global legitimacy and governance. Following the Arab Spring, her research has centered on the diverse logics of action in Arab politics and society, including the role of urban dynamics in civil-military relations. She is also widely recognized for her work on women’s issues and Islamic political movements.
