After completing 25 years of service in the Turkish Navy, Haydar Oruç retired in 2014. Subsequently, he pursued his PhD at Sakarya University Middle East Institute, concurrently working as a researcher at the Israel Studies desk. From 2019 to 2021, he held the position of Levant Specialist at the Center for Middle Eastern Studies (ORSAM), overseeing studies on Palestine and Israel. Presently, as an independent researcher, he focuses on Palestine, Israel, the Middle East, and Turkish Foreign Policy. His work includes research, analytical writing for diverse platforms, and serving as a television commentator.
