Prof. Dr. Esra Hatipoğlu is a prominent scholar in Political Science and International Relations. She graduated from Kadıköy Anatolian High School and earned her Bachelor’s degree from Marmara University, followed by a Master’s in Economics from Anadolu University and a Master’s in European Studies from Marmara University. She completed her Ph.D. in European Studies at Marmara University, specializing in Russia and Post-Soviet Studies at the London School of Economics (LSE).
Starting as a Research Assistant in 1992, she held various academic roles at Marmara University until 2016. She served as Deputy Director of the Middle East Institute (2002-2005) and was the founding chair of the Department of International Economics (2014-2015). Promoted to Associate Professor in 2007 and full Professor in 2013, she was Rector of Nişantaşı University (2016-2019) and has been Rector of Bahçeşehir University since September 2023.
Prof. Dr. Hatipoğlu has participated in election observation missions for the OSCE and has been involved in numerous research projects. Her publications cover Russian foreign policy, the Black Sea Region, and Turkish higher education, with a recent focus on the impact of artificial intelligence on education.
