Ersel Aydınlı PROFESSOR, DEPARTMENT OF INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS AT BILKENT UNIVERSITY

Ersel Aydinli is a professor in the Department of International Relations at Bilkent University. He taught in the International Relations department at George Washington University and Middle East Technical University in Ankara. He has an MA in International Relations from George Washington University, a PhD in Political Science from McGill University, and a post-doctorate from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government. His research interests include the disciplinary sociology of international relations, international security focusing on non-state actors, and Turkey’s security and foreign policy. He has published several books, including Widening the World of International Relations: Homegrown Theorizing; Violent Non-State Actors: From Anarchists to Jihadists, Emerging Transnational (In)Security Governance: A Statist Transnationalist Approach; Paradigms in Transition: Globalization, Security and the Nation-State. He also published articles in acclaimed journals such as Journal of Peace Research, Foreign Affairs, Journal of Democracy, Security Dialogue, The Chinese Journal of International Politics, Middle East Journal. He is also the Editor-in-Chief of All Azimuth: A Journal of Fereign Policy and Peace.
