Dr. Aijan Sharshenova is a Bishkek-based political analyst, the Executive Director at Crossroads Central Asia (Kyrgyzstan) and a Research Fellow at the Foreign Policy Centre (UK). She holds a PhD in Politics awarded at the University of Leeds, and two Master’s degrees in International Studies and EU Studies. Dr. Sharshenova publishes extensively on Central Asian politics, focusing on the region’s relations with the EU, Russia and China.
In addition to her academic career, Dr. Sharshenova has worked in the international development area, including the UN system in the Middle East.
