From November 2020 to June 2023, Dr Cevdet Yılmaz chaired the Planning and Budget Commission in the House of Commons. As of June 3, 2023, he is serving as the Vice President of the Republic of Türkiye.
He graduated from the Middle East Technical University’s Department of Public Administration. He earned a master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Denver, and a doctorate in Political Science and Public Administration from Bilkent University.
He has held various positions, including leading the Directorate-General for Relations with the European Union at the Undersecretariat of the Prime Ministry’s State Planning Organisation. He served as a Member of Parliament for Bingöl for several terms and for Diyarbakır in one term. He has also held government positions, including Minister of State and Minister of Development, and was Deputy Prime Minister.
