He is also a senior fellow at the Wilfried Martens Centre for European Studies, a part of the European People’s Party in Brussels. He is the former Secretary of State for European Affairs in Portugal. Maçães is the author of Belt and Road; History Has Begun; and The Dawn of Eurasia. He advises some of the world’s leading companies on geopolitics and technology.
