Prof. Azeem Ibrahim, OBE, is the Senior Director of Special Initiatives at the Newlines Institute for Strategy and Policy in Washington, D.C., a Research Professor at the Strategic Studies Institute of the U.S. Army War College, and a columnist for Foreign Policy Magazine. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Cambridge and has completed fellowships at Oxford, Harvard, and Yale.
In 2022, Dr. Ibrahim was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire by Queen Elizabeth II in recognition of his advisory role in the UK’s 2021 Integrated Defence Review and the G7 Economic Resilience Panel. His most recent book, Authoritarian Century: Omens of a Post-Liberal Order (Hurst, 2022), examines the global rise of authoritarianism.
