Dr. Esma Yağmur Sönmez currently serves as the Academic Event Manager at the Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), where she oversees and manages key academic events such as the TRT World Forum, NEXT by TRT World Forum, and TRT Geleceğin İletişimcileri Yarışması. Since November 2023, Dr. Sönmez has also been practicing as an attorney. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations, with a minor in Political Science, from Bilkent University, where she graduated as the top-ranked student in both the department and faculty. In addition, Dr. Sönmez possesses a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Business Administration. She completed two Master of Science degrees in European Studies and International Relations from Middle East Technical University, where she also earned a PhD in International Relations with a focus on international law.
